Its official, SORBA-Chattanooga recently signed a memorandum of understanding with the City and County to construct 10 miles of trail (with the possibility for more) at Enterprise South Park. A small group of trail volunteers have already flagged the trail and as soon as the trail corridor is cleared the earth work can start. SORBA is calling all mountain bikers to volunteer to attend the first trail work day slated for January 17, 2009. Because the park is not open to the general public all volunteers must arrive slightly before 9 am, as county staff will have to unlock the gate and let us in, before re-locking the gate. County staff will come back at 2 pm to unlock the gate and let everyone back out. Don't worry about lunch as SORBA-Chattanooga will be providing lunch to all volunteers.

No prior trail experience is necessary.

Volunteers should bring gloves and something to drink while working. While SORBA-Chattanooga has a tools for volunteers to use, if you have a set of loppers or pruning shears, please feel free to bring them.

Here are directions. Head North on Hwy 58 1/2 mile past the Fire Dept. You'll see a SMALL brown sign for the UTC field classroom. We'll work from 9:00-2:00. It is imperative the everyone is there ON TIME. We are let in the gate as a group and locked in until 2:00. Can't stress this enough! There's no free access. We'll have lunch provided. We will have a lot of tools on hand, but request members to bring loppers if they have a pair. See forum post for entrance to Enterprise South Park
