The November issue of Bike Magazine reviews 10 exotic trails in the south in anticipation of the IMBA’s World Summit schedule to be held in South Carolina in 2010.
The article, Going South: Exploring Dixieland’s Hottest Singletrack, mentions SORBA-Chattanooga’s volunteer constructed and maintained Raccoon Mountain Trails Network, along with the Windrock downhill trails, in the section devoted to Tennessee.

The most recent issue of The Pulse covered several outdoor activities. Sam Silvey, Editor for the on line LookOutDoorsNews, and freelance writer was asked to write an article about cycling in the Chattanooga area. SORBA-Chattanooga and its crown jewel project, Raccoon Mountain are the focus of the article.

When one thinks of outstanding mountain biking trails, Moab’s Slick Rock trail is usually near the top of the list, mostly comprised of trails in western states. However, American Way magazine suggests that Chattanooga’s own, volunteer constructed and maintained, Raccoon Mountain is a great alternative to Moab’s premier Slick Rock Trail.

SORBA-Chattanooga’s trail maintenance efforts at Harrison Bay State Park have earned a quick mention in a recent Times Free Press news article.
The SORBA folks have done a great job of rerouting bits of the old trail that were seemingly always wet. One friend mentioned that he once stopped on this trail before it was rerouted, looked down and noticed minnows swimming between his spokes. Now, though, there should be no cause for alarm.
